STREAM TEAM:  Learn how to monitor water quality on Wednesday, August 31, from 6 - 8p, at the Licking Park District’s Riverview Preserve, 375 Ohio Street, Newark, Ohio 43055.  After training, adopt a local stream of your choice.  Registration requested.

RIVER ROUND UP:   Help clean up Licking County waterways, Saturday, September 10.  Register today.

BOARD CANDIDATES SOUGHT:  The Licking Soil & Water Board Nominating Committee is seeking conservation-minded candidates to run for the Board of Supervisors.  Interested individuals should contact Licking Soil & Water at 740-670-5330.  The deadline for submitting a candidate information form is Thursday, September 15, 2016.

FARMLAND PRESERVATION CELEBRATION:  Celebrate land preservation efforts in Licking County, 9:30a - 12p, Saturday, September 17 at the Stair-Hughes Farm.  Learn about land preservation options and chat with landowners and partner organizations.  Registration requested.

FFA SOIL JUDGING:  Licking County FFA high school teams will compete in soil judging, Tuesday, September 20 and Tuesday, September 27 at Infirmary Mound Park.  Students will evaluate soil pits to determine soil properties, limitations, recommended conservation practices, and appropriate land uses.  For more information or to volunteer, contact Denise Natoli Brooks, 740-670-5330, or

PROJECT WILD EDUCATOR WORKSHOP:  Facilitate hands-on activities that emphasize awareness, appreciation and understanding of wildlife and natural resources.  The workshop will be held 8:30a - 3:00p, Monday, October 10, at Infirmary Mound Park.  Professional Development Credit is available. Pre-registration is required.

EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATOR WORKSHOP:  Build positive impressions of nature with students through fun, hands-on activities.  The workshop will be held 8:30a - 3:00p Friday, October 21, at Infirmary Mound Park.  Professional Development Credit is available.  Pre-registration is required.

ANNUAL BANQUET & VOLUNTEER RECOGNITION:  Save the date, Wednesday evening, November 9 at The Grove by the River.
