X-WR-CALDESC:Western Licking County is growing\, and it needs a watershed a
dvocacy group! Please join us virtually or in person for an organizational
meeting on November 9 at 7:00 PM. Location: Denison University\, Barney-D
avis Hall room 110\, or on zoom. We encourage you to attend as well as rea
ch out to those whom you believe will be passionate about this issue. If y
ou have any questions pertaining to this event please feel free to contact
us via the information listed below!\n\n\nA little background detail… \n	A
s environmental students at Denison University\, we have been given the op
portunity to work as an extension of the Licking County Soil and Water Con
servation District. Throughout our work\, we have been assessing and gathe
ring information about the Headwaters of Raccoon Creek. This has led us to
develop a website containing the history and present conditions of the wa
tershed and future pressures it may face. \n\n	The Headwaters of Raccoon Cr
eek is our area of focus due to the lack of general knowledge regarding th
e quality of the watershed coupled with the nearby addition of Intel.\n\nT
he lack of awareness of the watershed has led to a rise in concerns due to
the negative impacts it can impose on surrounding habitats as well as our
water quality. For these reasons\, along with many others\, it is vital t
hat action is taken to equip those in the surrounding area with the abilit
y to recognize and address pressing issues. \n\n	Therefore\, sparking inter
est in the surrounding communities in order to increase education and awar
eness will serve a critical purpose to provide the headwaters with the sup
port that it needs in face of environmental pressures and the addition of
Intel. As a result\, we are inviting you to a town hall meeting to discuss
the creation of a Headwaters of Racoon Creek advocacy group. In this town
hall\, we will discuss the importance and purposes of watersheds as well
as hold an open discussion regarding the ecological impacts that will soon
be imposed by Intel in the coming years. Below is a fact sheet including
general information about Raccoon Creek that we hope you will take the tim
 e to look at.\n\n
