Soil Health Meeting
The Coshocton SWCD is collaborating with several surrounding SWCDs to host a Soil Health Meeting on Tuesday, February 12, at the M Event Centre (KOA Campground, 24688 County Road 10, Coshocton 43812) from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The featured farmers for the evening are Joe and Mike Beam from Xenia with the topic Regenerating Your Soils. The Beams are 4th and 5th generation farmers and have been using a no-till system for over 30 years. In their operation they practice systematic tiling, cover crops, manure, expanded crop rotation, and a planter mounted cover crop roller.
The meeting will also feature a local farmer roundtable discussing the use of cover crops. There is no charge for the meeting and dinner will be provided.
