What is a rain garden…?
A bowl-shaped garden that sits approximately 3-6 inches below the ground, filled with native plants that is used for collecting stormwater.
What do rain gardens do…?
- Collect and filter runoff
- Soak up excess nutrients and other pollutants
- Provide habitat for pollinators and other wildlife
- Ease burden on our storm sewers and waterways
- Create an attractive landscape
