What is a rain garden…?

A bowl-shaped garden that sits approximately 3-6 inches below the ground, filled with native plants that is used for collecting stormwater.

What do rain gardens do…?

  • Collect and filter runoff
  • Soak up excess nutrients and other pollutants
  • Provide habitat for pollinators and other wildlife
  • Ease burden on our storm sewers and waterways
  • Create an attractive landscape
